Production Description

Casting 'The Indian Princess,' a play. Project description: "a not-so classic American play written by James Nelson Barker with music by John Bray in the early 19th century, receiving it's first production in Philadelphia in 1808. It was a rousing success, becoming the first American play to be performed in Europe. It is one of the first dramatic retellings of the Pocahontas story, one of the only early American plays that had the full score printed, a true time-capsule of American Entertainment, and no one ever puts it onstage...until now! Along with a new musical arrangement by Christian O'Kelly, and more than a few twists of fate, Schlock Entertainment resurrects a piece of American history to examine how much and how little American entertainment has progressed in the last 200 years."
