Role Description

Professor Bateman: (Lead) the legend springs from Batemen's mind. The story is his. He is a storyteller, raconteur, quasi-scientist, newspaperman, wonderful storyteller, and a one man show unto himself. As the story rolls out he challenges the audience and himself to confront the subtle difficulties and uneasy conclusions of the legend. This actor must be mentally agile, charismatic, a very good--excellent singer, capable of leading the musical ensemble. The actor must be good at memorization, interested in dramatic process, willing to evoke a leadership role within the ensemble, capable of creating multiple characters, and a tireless lover of the dramatic moment. Also plays Revereng Manning and Captain Syndey B. Cook. Basic guitar is a major plus, but not required. Baritenor.
