Production Description
Daniel Benhamu (dir.) is casting "The Fifth Column," a student film for The New School based on Ernest Hemingway's play of the same name. The story is set in the early 1940's Spanish Civil War era when people were widely slandered for being involved in espionage. Phillip Rawlings is a secret agent that wakes up one morning to news that his two guards lost his captured culprit while he was partying around the hotel. He sends them to jail, worries about keeping people safe, and orders a new guard all the while hotel guests desperately want him with both loving and fighting intentions.
