Role Description

Medvedyenko: (Supporting) A school teacher in love with Masha. The same way the Arcadina shines over Pauline, and Nina shines over Masha... everyone in the play shines over Medvedyenko. Medvedyenko is a school teacher who is deeply in love with Masha. A scene between the two of them opens the play, where Medvedyenko openly professes his love to Masha...but Masha is in love with Kostya. Medvedyenko is the character that is always talking, but no one ever wants to listen to him. In a way, he is the plays scapegoat, always getting the short end of the stick. In the end, he does marry Masha, and they have a baby, but he still doesn't get her heart. Physically, he is probably kind of tall, but skinny and lanky, nerdy and wears glasses.
