Production Description

Casting a film for New York University, "The Secret Miracle." Coordinator states: "This is a magical realist story that tells of the death of a working class man, Oscar Horaz. Oscar has spent his entire life working in an ink factory on an assembly line - simply another cog in the machine. Day after day, Oscar dreams of going off to a castle that is pictured in a ratty poster as old as he. Oscar has never gone away anywhere before, but we meet him on the day of his retirement, his last day of work. His castle seems more than just a fantasy. But as fate would have it, the very same day a letter arrives in the mail and printed in that letter is the scheduled death of Oscar Horaz. His wife has left him, his kids have grown and moved out, so Oscar searches for God as he casts a final prayer. He prays only for the time to enjoy a first and final trip to the castle. God answers his prayer as Oscar finds himself a split moment away from death, but not in the way he would have imagined."
