Over the years, Owen's father, Perry, has been too cheap to fix anything so everything keeps breaking down. To make matters worse, Owen hires his lazy, ne’er-do-well buddies from collage to help run The Shop. But Owen really wants to pursue his own dream, which would require closing down the coffee shop, putting his friends out of work and letting down his father. The series poses the question: can Owen run the dilapidated coffee shop, manage his friends and at the same time pursue his dream? Or will he follow in his father's footsteps, abandon his dreams and remain trapped running The Shop forever?
