Production Description

Casting a lab & performance of "The Taming of the Shrew." Executive producer states: "Not only is this an opportunity to be part of a full production of one of 'The Bard's' greatest plays, it is a chance to work intensively with Mr. Owens. Our focus for this project is on the process, just as much as it is on the product. The first two weeks of rehearsal will focus on script analysis work: each actor will meet with their scene partners and have sessions with Geoffrey on their text. The second two weeks will be the staging of the play."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearsals begin in June; runs for two weeks in late July at a TBA Off-Broadway house in NYC.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

No pay. $500 fee required. Executive producer states: "This experience will be a wonderful challenge for actors, but it's also aimed at empowering ourselves as artists. All actors involved are to be active producers in the show; this means that we each will invest $500. This will cover director fee, as well as theater rental. Through ticket sales and fundraising, all are likely to recoup their investment."
