Production Description

Seeking participants for a special "shave off" event on "The Today Show" to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. Producer states: "'The Today Show' is going to promote the St. Baldrick’s Foundation work in funding childhood cancer research by hosting a live 'shave off.' St. Baldrick’s will attempt to break the Guinness World Record: one barber shaving the most heads in one hour--more than 80 people. We are looking for actors (men, women, children) to participate in breaking the record and standing in solidarity with kids fighting cancer who lose their hair from treatment. The shave will air live from the Plaza during the Wednesday April 9th show. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation coordinates its worldwide signature head-shaving events where volunteers (shavees) get bald to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer and raise money to support lifesaving childhood cancer research."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Event will take place April 9 at NBC's "Today Show" Plaza; 6:30 a.m. arrival on site for all those getting shaved; entrance will be a special VIP line at 35 W. 48th St. (between Fifth & Sixth aves.); live shave segment wraps at 9:30 a.m.
