Production Description

Casting Totem Pole Playhouse 2014 season to include: "Steel Magnolias" (Reh. May 16; runs May 30-June 15), "Ring of Fire" (Reh. June 6; runs June 20-July 13), "The Foreigner" (Reh. July 4; runs July 18-Aug. 3), and "Godspell" (Reh. July 25; runs Aug. 8-31).

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearses and performs in Fayetteville, PA.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Pays $638/wk. Equity COST Tier 1 Contract.

19 ‐ Newly hired assistant. Moves from unsure to wild to religious.

55 to late 60’s ‐ Widow of former mayor. Grand dame. Elegant, sophisticated, a brassy beauty.

Shelby Eatenton‐Latcherie
25 ‐ Prettiest girl in town. Loves pink. Strong willed, passionate.

M'Lynn Eatenton
50’s ‐ Shelby's mother. Always knows what’s best, strong, stubborn, practical.

Ouiser (pronounced Weezer) Boudreaux
to play late 60’s ‐ Wealthy curmudgeon, tough, eccentric character.

Man # 1
(40's - 50's): Mature Johnny Cash type leading man. Strong country, folk voice. Acoustic guitar.

Man # 2
(30's - 40's): Younger Johnny Cash type leading man. Strong rock-a-billy, folk voice. Acoustic guitar.

Woman #1
(40's - 50's): Mature June Carter type leading lady. Striking looks. Strong rock, folk, country voice.

Woman #2
(30's - 40's): Younger June Carter type leading lady. Striking looks. Strong rock, folk, country voice.

Froggy Lesueur
50's - A British military demolitions expert.

Charlie Baker
mid 40's - British, pathologically shy little man who has a need for peace and quiet.

Betty Meeks:
late 60's - a widow, good-hearted, generous, “down-home” Southerner.

Reverend David Marshall Lee
late 30's - appears to be a regular guy; however, he is not what he seems.

Catherine Simms
30's - soon to be rich, fiancée of Reverend Lee, has a ready wit and a sharp tongue.

Owen Musser
late 40's - county property inspector and sterotype of an ill-bred southern Klansman.

Ellard Simms
early 20's - Catherine's slow-witted brother who is due to inherit a share of the Simms family fortune.

early to mid 20's - high energy, charming, funny, gentle but with strength, the sort of person that others follow.


mid to late 20's - attributes of both Biblical figures: Jesus' most ardent disciple and the rebel; charismatic, but in more of an overt revolutionary way with an undertone of sexuality.

He is both Jesus’ lieutenant and most ardent disciple and the doubter who betrays him.

Very high energy, impish, playful.

a little slow with a sweetness and innocence about him. Sings “All Good Gifts.”

class clown, should be able to do a hundred voices and imitations.

a tomboy, but basically open and sweet. Sings “Day by Day.”

confident, bit of a show-off, jumps in before she really understands what’s going on.

shy and little slow to get things, but once she does, she commits all the way. Has an “earth mother” warmth about her.

sassy, somewhat cynical, the most mature of the group. Sexy, but with an element of put-on.

class clown, goofy and a cute. Must be a strong comedian.
