Production Description

Casting "Triptych," an evening of three one-acts which hopes to unite the literary visions of Russian futurist Daniil Kharms, Belgian symbolist Maurice Maeterlinck, and Manhattan naturalist T. Adamson. Director states: "These plays paint the portraits of three centuries, three countries and three writers and we will be rehearsing the plays with three appropriately different approaches. First: 'Phenomena & Existences #1-#2' by Daniil Kharms is a freshly-adapted ontological farce, poking irreverent fun at the horrors of existence, the pitfalls of fiction, roosters, Vodka, and the artist Michel Angelo.
Second: 'Spiders Are Real! They’re Alive and They Hate You!!' by T. Adamson is a world premiere adventure-tragicomedy. Based on Eugene O’Neill’s 'Strange Interlude' & Steven Spielberg’s 'Indiana Jones.' Multitudes of poisonous spiders haunt lovelorn anthropologists much like the grim specters of the lingering past. Third: 'La Mort de Tintagiles' by Maurice Maeterlinck. The Belgian Nobel-laureate’s haunting allegory of fate, fear, and death. New, English adaptation/translation. This production is a part of SubletSeries@HERE: Co-op, HERE's curated summer rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support."
