Production Description

Casting possible replacements for "Troilus and Cressida." Synopsis: Troilus and Cressida is Shakespeare’s ironic tragi comedy that takes place during the Trojan war. Many of the figures from Homer’s "Iliad" appear, most in a less-than-flattering light. In the midst of an ill-conceived war and extended political arguments on both sides, a pair of young lovers pledge eternal love, but betray each other when they are separated by fate.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearsals begin June 25; runs July 30-Aug. 3 in Middlebury, VT.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Pays: $717/wk., plus benefits, room and board, and a teaching stipend of $1,400 provided. Equity LOA w/ URTA Contract.

Directions to theater

From New York or New Jersey, and points south and west, take the NY Thruway (87 north) to exit 24 for the Northway (89). Take the Northway to exit 20 for Rte. 149 east. Take Rte. 149 east to Rte. 4 east. After entering Vermont on Rte. 4, take exit 4 for Rte. 30 north; this goes into Middlebury. At the rotary, go around the circle and take the third exit (directly next to the one that was used to enter the circle). Take a right at Weybridge Street and continue until two stone pillars on the left marking entrance into the College. Stay in the center road which dead ends into a parking lot outside the entrance of Freeman International Center. Enter the glass doors and take elevator to the second floor and turn left.

From Boston or points east: Take Interstate 93 north to Interstate 89 north. Follow 89 north into Vermont and take exit 3 for Bethel and Rte. 107 west. Take 107 to Rte. 100 North. Take Rte. 100 to Route 125 west. Take Route 125 west which eventually joins with Route 7 North and takes you into the town of Middlebury. Follow signs to Middlebury College which brings you to a stop light at Route 7 and Cross Street, take a left onto Cross street, go over the bridge and enter the rotary exiting again in 2 exits. Take a right at Weybridge Street and continue until two stone pillars on the left marking entrance into the College. Stay in the center road which dead ends into a parking lot outside the entrance of Freeman International Center. Enter the glass doors and take elevator to the second floor and turn left. Some estimates of driving times to Middlebury College from Boston 3-4 hours; from Hartford 3-4 hours; from Albany 2-3 hours; and from New York City 5-5 1/2 hours.
