Production Description

Casting "Troubled Island," an opera in three acts composed by William Grant Still, with a libretto begun by poet Langston Hughes and completed by Verna Arvey. It was the first grand opera composed by an African American to be produced by a major opera company for the American stage. It was produced in 1949 by the New York City Opera company.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Auditions start immediately; performs Oct. 19 in Chicago, IL.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

$200 honorarium.
