Role Description

Liam: (Lead) the enigmatic protagonist and the parallel for Ishmael from "Moby Dick." Is somewhat of an outsider, but is a verbose, philosophical intellectual. There is secrecy surrounding his background, alluding to the fact that he may be overqualified,
depressive, and perhaps suicidal. References to his failed relationship provide insight into his motivation. However, his character is exposed through what he chooses to film and his perspective on the world around him, rather than what he says about himself, which is next to nothing. Casting personnel state: "Positioning him as the protagonist is the major structural
departure from "Moby Dick." Instead of serving solely as the (unreliable) narrator, he is
placed within the action and goes through an active arc. In short, he is put in a position to react to or against his complicated world vision."
