Role For Bobby AKA (Motel Lobby Attendant)

ACTION – Bobby comes from a back room into the lobby area to help out. Bobby has a very large predominant scar across the front of his neck. He is dressed like a simple man cheap clothes country style. He looks at John first and starts to speak.

I’m really sorry sir let me help you out. Please give me just a minute.

ACTION – Bobby then turns to the motel owner (his dad) and speaks to him.

Dad I think you’re tired it’s late. I’ll take care of this.

ACTION – Motel owner stays in the lobby behind the desk with Bobby while Bobby looks at some paperwork and shuffles through a few things. He then speaks to John.

Sir I apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding we do have one room available.....Room #6.

ACTION – Camera focuses on motel owner who starts shaking, get’s a terrified look in his eye’s and starts to piss his pants. He starts to mumble. In the background you can hear John talking.

6......6......6 (very slow and mumbled)

JOHN (V.O., O.S or in background)
You stupid old man I knew there was a room available.

Dad why don’t you go sit down and relax.

ACTION – Elizabeth shakes her head and looks sad and disgusted with John. The motel owner put’s his head down and starts to walk out of the lobby. Bobby now focuses back on John and directs his attention and speaks to him. Bobby speaks to John in a very calm manner and almost has an upbeat eerie smirk/smile on his face.

I think my dad forgot about this room. We never use it, but I keep it available for special circumstances. I believe you said you would pay in cash correct? The room is $500 for the night.

$500!? Are you serious!? For this shithole!?

It’s our last and only room we have, and there isn’t another motel around for at least 100 miles. Do you want it or not?

I can’t believe this, this is bullshit.

ACTION – John turns to Elizabeth and speaks.

C’mon babe we’re outta here let’s go.

No, I’m too tired to deal with this. We’re not leaving. This gentleman offered us a place to stay. We’re taking it. Pay him and let’s be done with it please.

ACTION – John pulls out cash and gives it to Bobby very forcibly.

Here. Just give me the key and whatever paperwork you need me to sign.

ACTION – Bobby hands John the key

No need for paperwork sir, it’s late. You guy’s just get settled in and have a wonderful night. Thanks for staying with us.

Thank you for accommodating us tonight.

My pleasure ma’am.

ACTION – John and Elizabeth turn and walk out of lobby.

Scene 2 For Bobby

ACTION – Bobby walks into camera frame and walks behind the lobby office desk.

Hi can I help you?

Hi yes I was actually here a few weeks ago.

Oh yes. Hello, I remember you now you came in late at night needing a room.

Yes that’s right.

You were here with your husband. I remember him very well. (creepy sounding)

ACTION – Elizabeth looks down at the ground, pauses a moment and get’s a sad look. She then looks back at Bobby.

Yes I’m sorry about his behavior that night.

That’s ok, so what can I do for you?

Um.....I’m really embarrassed and I apologize but I think my husband stole something from the room we stayed in.

Is that so?

Yes, I’m really sorry and I’ve brought it back for you.

ACTION – Elizabeth reaches in her pocket and pulls out the cross (Bobby can’t see it yet).

Where’s your husband now?

ACTION – Elizabeth puts her hand out and places the cross in the palm of Bobby’s hand. (Bobby can’t see the cross until it’s going in his hand).

He’s dead. (This happens exact same time as Elizabeth places cross in Bobby’s hand).

INT SCENE – Hotel room nighttime.
