9. The Holiday

Anyone who's ever felt lonely over the holidays can appreciate the charming appeal of "The Holiday." When the Hollywood-based Cameron Diaz switches homes with journalist Kate Winslet in London for their holiday vacation, they both find love in their new places. Although full of the usual rom-com cheese, "The Holiday" is a sweet, refreshing escape from most contemporary Christmas films. Or maybe we just love it because we wish we could live in Winslet's quiet cobblestone London home over the holidays.
