The Roastmaster General might not be a household name quite yet, but he’s been a big influencer behind the scenes. Ross produces and performs on the Comedy Central Roasts, which have given national exposure to up-and-comers like Amy Schumer and Anthony Jeselnik—both of whom will premiere their own shows on Comedy Central next year, thanks partly to the popularity of their Roast appearances. And on his new Comedy Central show “The Burn,” which just wrapped its six-episode first season, Ross invites standup comics like Todd Glass, Hannibal Buress, Schumer, Jeselnik, and more to spit venom in a weekly showcase. (The series even featured Ed Larson, member of NYC sketch group Murderfist, as Ross’ sidekick.)
