5. Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield in “Pulp Fiction”
Trained hit men who kill with precision or maintain a sneaky disguise are no fun for Tarantino. Instead he gives us Vincent Vegan and Jules Winnfeild in “Pulp Fiction,” who spend their time shooting up heroine or cleaning up splattered brains from an accidental killing. They may not be the most reliable hit men to hire, leaving shot guns unattended while they use the restroom, but they’re the most entertaining, comical film killers to date. The best way to intimidate a victim before an assassination may just be to thunderously recite a Bible verse and eat the rest of their lunch.
