Naturally, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” would have at least two people on this list. Evan Rachel Wood was booked to play the original Mary Jane Watson, but she too had to exit because of a “scheduling problem.” Wood, who became an overnight celebrity after her performance in “Across the Universe,” was supposedly never 100 percent on being a part of the production, having said numerous times that nothing was definite. Wood and Alan Cumming, both friends of then-director Julie Taymor, left within one month of each other. The role was taken over by Jennifer Damiano.
