Long before Frodo and friends went on a mission to destroy the One Ring, Bilbo Baggins went on a mission to get it back. In “The Hobbit,” the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) sends hobbit Bilbo (Martin Freeman) on a journey with a band of dwarves to rescue the ring from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Directed by Peter Jackson, and the fourth film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s books, “The Hobbit” seems to be one of 2012’s most anticipated films.
