6. Professor Lupin in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (2004)

In the third Harry Potter film, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) has a host of harrowing encounters with those creepy, soul-sucking Dementors, so it’s a good thing he has Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Remus Lupin (David Thewlis) there to help him defend himself. Throughout the year, Lupin gives Harry private Dementor-fighting lessons, and he teaches Harry to produce a Patronus so successfully that Harry is able to fight off hundreds of swarming Dementors at the end of the film. Oh, and did we mention that Lupin is a nice, totally non-threatening werewolf? Because that’s certifiably cool.
