7. Ms. Norbury in “Mean Girls” (2004)

She may be the head of the “Mathletes” club, but high school math teacher Ms. Norbury (Tina Fey) is as cool as teachers come. When the brainy Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) joins her class after moving from Africa, Ms. Norbury encourages Cady to resist peer pressure and nurture her intellect, instead. But when Cady gets too involved with the popular girls’ clique, “The Plastics,” and initiates a school-wide girl war, Ms. Norbury is there to quell the fighting and teach the girls how to civilly interact with one another. Sigh—if only all high school math teachers were this cool.
