The vast array of talent in “Follies” and the rampant virtuosity of “Gatz” notwithstanding, a preternatural quality accompanied the cast of Tarrell Alvin McCraney’s collusion of Lorca, African mythology, and Louisiana realities at the Fountain Theatre. The players simply inhaled the work’s stylized, wide-ranging requirements, with Kilpatrick’s heroine the fulcrum of a marvelous group effort.
