2. Rafael Goldstein in “Hamlet”

This deft miniaturization of Shakespeare’s enduring tragedy at Zombie Joe’s Underground owed much of its considerable heft to Goldstein’s amazing interpretation of the tortured hero. Approaching the key points of the narrative with mercurial spontaneity, his mastery of iambic pentameter, emotional nuance, and dynamic range was absolute. He’s a star in the making.
