6. Alan Mandell in “Waiting for Godot”

Bringing the enigmas of Samuel Beckett to immediate life is a challenge. Although all the players in Center Theatre Group’s riveting revival of Beckett’s existential masterpiece were up to the task, Mandell, as Estragon, seemed to be channeling the playwright’s every last unstated intent.
