11. "Barry Lyndon"

Stanley Kubrick's 1975 "Barry Lyndon," based on William Makepeace Thackeray's novel, follows a fictional 18th century Irish rogue. "Barry Lyndon" can be considered a true period piece for Kubrick's efforts to evoke the visual aesthetic of the time, shooting most of the scenes by candlelight and natural light.
