12. "Atonement"

By this point it's obvious that Keira Knightley is a staple of a good period piece, especially with Joe Wright directing her. Wright's 2007 World War II drama "Atonement" starring Knightley, James McAvoy, and Saoirse Ronan follows a passionate love interrupted by a girl's false accusation. "Atonement" was nominated for seven Oscars, winning for Best Original Score, and 13 BAFTAs, winning two.
