3. "Jane Eyre"

One of the most adapted novels ever, Charlotte Bronte's 19th century gothic romance novel "Jane Eyre" has been adapted for the screen more than 18 times, not including television versions. The life of Jane Eyre and her love for Mr. Rochester has been depicted by Orson Welles in 1943, Timothy Dalton in 1983, William Hurt in 1996, and most recently, Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender in 2011 (pictured).
