6. Jennifer Lawrence, “Silver Linings Playbook”

Lawrence recently turned 22, but she brings a lifetime’s worth of pain and experience to the role of Tiffany, the tough, brash young widow of “Silver Linings Playbook.” As Bradley Cooper’s Pat Solitano tells her, Tiffany “says more inappropriate things than appropriate things,” but it’s that very quality that sparks an unlikely relationship between the two. She even manages to win over Pat Sr. (Robert De Niro), who initially sees her as bad news. It takes much less time to win over the audience.
