6. Nell Carter as Miss Hannigan

Much controversy surrounded the casting of the 20th anniversary "Annie" Broadway revival, mostly due to Nell Carter landing the role of Miss Hannigan. Carter initially called the show's producers racist for promoting the show with a commercial of a former white actress as Miss Hannigan; however Carter denied this comment later. Carter is also known for her Tony winning role in the Broadway musical "Ain't Misbehavin'" and her Emmy and Golden Globe nominated lead role in the sitcom "Gimme a Break!"
