10. Matthew McConaughey, “Magic Mike”

Don’t underestimate McConaughey just because it was a summer blockbuster about male strippers; the actor delivers one of the most bold, daring, and just plain fun performances of the year as strip club owner (and retired performer) Dallas. Audiences and critics took notice, praising the actor for holding nothing back, even winking at his own reputation by playing the drums onstage. Not too long ago, McConaughey would have played the title character, a well-intentioned beefcake people line up to watch take off his clothes. But not unlike Dallas, McConaughey is a little older now and a lot more savvy than people give him credit for.
