Goodman is reliably great in any role, but he competes against himself with two notable performances in fall films. Playing real-life makeup artist John Chambers, the actor not only steals scenes with his wit and humor but looks exactly like the late Chambers. In “Flight,” he more than holds his own opposite Denzel Washington, once again providing some comic relief as a ponytailed, fast-talking drug dealer. Making an entrance to “Sympathy for the Devil,” the actor proves he can steal scenes just by walking down a hall.
