2. Will Smith

Will Smith is one of few rappers who made a successful transition into acting. In 1988, Smith won the very first Grammy Award in the Rap category, which landed him the NBC sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," based on his rapper persona. Smith went on to make a name for himself in action films like "Bad Boys," "Independence Day, and "Enemy of the State," among others. Smith eventually earned himself two Oscar nominations for his performances in "Ali" and "The Pursuit of Happyness."
