3. Red Eye (2005)

In this plane-based thriller, Jackson Rippner (Cillian Murphy) is a terrorist operative with a plan to assassinate the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Charles Keefe (Jack Scalia). Seated next to Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams)—the manager of the hotel where Keefe is staying—on a flight to Miami, Rippner demands that Reisert call the hotel and have Keefe moved to a room facing the harbor (so that a missile fired from the water can reach Keefe’s room, of course). But Reisert turns out to be totally stealthy, and—through a series of phone calls, car-robberies, and intense gunfights—thwarts Rippner’s evil plan.
