6. Air Force One (1997)

In this high-action thriller, Harrison Ford plays U.S. President James Marshall, who’s flying home from Moscow after celebrating the capture of Ivan Radek (Jurgen Prochnow), a Kazakhstani terrorist. The flight hits turbulence, shall we say, when Agent Gibbs (Xander Berkeley) reveals his secret allegiance with the terrorists, and takes everybody onboard hostage, threatening to kill one every half hour until Radek is released. Little does Gibbs know that the actor playing President Marshall once played Indiana Jones, and so can therefore get himself out of any life-threatening altercation. Which—after various fights, shootings, and parachute strangulations—is exactly what happens.
