Oh hey, Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan stepped into the 007 tuxedo for “GoldenEye,” the seventeenth Bond film. “GoldenEye” also welcomed new cast-member Judi Dench as M; she was preceded by Robert Brown. Dench was the first woman to play the head of MI6. When one of Bond’s old teammates (presumed to be dead) reappears and threatens to destroy an American nuclear space weapon, it’s up to Bond to stop him. This was the first of the Bond films to deviate from Ian Fleming’s novels, but it still achieved great critical and commercial success, ushering in a new era of modernized Bond movies.
