In this classic 80s movie, 17-year-old Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is accidentally sent back in time 30 years in a tricked up Delorean designed by his mad scientist friend, Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown (Christopher Lloyd). After arriving in 1955, Marty meets his teenaged father (Crispin Glover) and mother (Lea Thompson), the latter of whom – much to Marty’s horror, becomes attracted to him! Now, in order to ensure his own existence when he makes it back to 1985, Marty has to make his father and mother fall in love again. Like any good 80s movie, “Back to the Future” turns out alright: Marty is able to reconstruct his parents’ love story and, in doing so, actually finds his family members’ lives improved when he returns to 1985. This time traveling film was so successful that it inspired two sequels: “Back to the Future” Parts II and III. (Photo by Universal Pictures)
