5. "The Time Traveler's Wife" (2009)

In this heart-wrenching romantic drama, Henry deTamble (Eric Bana) has a genetic disorder that causes him to uncontrollably travel through time, randomly visiting significant times, places, and people in his life. As you can no doubt imagine, this time travelling business makes it really hard to carry out a relationship with his childhood friend/eventual wife Clare (Rachel McAdams). When Henry first meets Clare it’s when they’re grown up, and Henry – not yet having time-traveled into Clare’s past – doesn’t even know that they’ve been friends for years. Needless to say, it’s a rough time. And things get even rougher when Henry time travels and meets his future daughter (Hailey McCann), who informs him how and when he will die.
