In this Oscar-winning Woody Allen film, Gil Pender (Owen Wilson) finds he can escape his uptight fiancée Inez (Rachel McAdams) and their pedantic friend (Michael Sheen) by journeying back to 1920s Paris by means of an old fashioned car that appears to him at the stroke of midnight. During his travels he meets a host of famous names like Gertrude Stein (Kathy Bates), Ernest Hemingway (Corey Stoll), and F. Scott Fitzgerald (Tom Hiddleton), and also becomes enamored with one of Picasso’s lovers, Adriana (Marion Cotillard). This, of course, creates tension in Gil and Inez’s relationship, which is worsened by the fact that Inez thinks Gil’s time-traveling tales are complete lunacy. In the end, Gil ditches Inez, realizing that Paris is really the thing he loves most. (Photo by Sony Pictures Classics)
