Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) is the former Chief of Surgery at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. Audiences may have freaked out at the end of Season 8, when a plane carrying Shepherd and four other principal characters crashed in the middle of a remote forest. But rest assured, McDreamy fans.
