Her name has been on everyone’s lips this year after her film debut in Ava DuVernay’s “Middle of Nowhere” screened at Sundance (see “Happy on the Fringe,” page 24). As the pragmatic spouse of an incarcerated man, Emayatzy Corinealdi made sacrificing her life for love seem not only noble but sensible, which is what makes the film’s final third so wrenching.
