“Homeland” beats “Mad Men” for Outstanding Drama Series, preventing the latter from setting a record for five consecutive wins. While “Mad Men” is excellent, you can’t really argue with the win for “Homeland,” a terrific show that marks the first time the cable network Showtime has won a series award. The same can be said for “Homeland” star Damian Lewis besting three-time champ Bryan Cranston of “Breaking Bad.” While Cranston is consistently excellent, Lewis is pretty spectacular as a U.S. Marine who may or may not be a traitor.
