7. Jon Cryer Wins Leading Actor in a Comedy

Which brings us to the biggest shocker of the night: Jon Cryer’s win for “Two and a Half Men.” After moving from the supporting to the lead category. Cryer not only bested previous winners Alec Baldwin and Jim Parsons, but lovable curmudgeons Larry David and Louis C.K. While Cryer is a good actor and a very nice guy, the win felt more like he was being rewarded for surviving Charlie Sheen than for his actual performance. No one seemed more surprised than Cryer, who repeatedly kept stating how shocked he was. During his speech he said, “Don't panic, people. Something has clearly gone terribly wrong. I'm stunned. I didn't actually win this. This did not just happen.” If he really thinks something went wrong, maybe he could pass that Emmy on to Giancarlo Esposito.
