4. “Mad Max” (1979)

Back in 1979, Mel Gibson was making a name for himself in the Australian post-apocalypse film “Mad Max.” In the wastelands of a society-less Australia, Max goes on a psychotic mission to get revenge after his friend, wife, and son were all murdered by a vicious motorcycle gang. “Mad Max” was so popular that it inspired two sequels, and a fourth installment is supposedly in the works for 2014!
