Patti LuPone won her first Tony Award for playing Eva Perón in “Evita" in 1979. When the musical was adapted for the screen by Alan Parker and Oliver Stone in 1996, pop icon Madonna was cast as Eva. While LuPone may have been too old for the role, Madonna ended up winning the Golden Globe for her performance. (Photo by Martha Swope)
