2. James Franco and Anne Hathaway (2011)

The Academy’s attempt to bring a youthful and hip vibe to the show with their youngest hosts ever was an embarrassing and, unfortunately, unforgettable choice. It’s painful to recall James Franco’s near catatonic, seemingly stoned behavior, and Anne Hathaway nauseating ebullience. (However, with Franco to deal with, maybe she wasn't to blame.)
