3. David Letterman (1994)

Regarded by many as the worst host ever, David Letterman failed to please the audience, both in the auditorium and at home, with his sardonic, late-night talk show humor. The most notorious among Letterman’s embarrassing hosting moments was his “Uma-Oprah” joke where he attempted to introduce Uma Thurman and Oprah Winfrey by running back and forth onstage shouting their names. Apparently Letterman found it amusing how unique-sounding their names were. No one else did, especially Oprah, and he was never asked back to host. (Photo by Getty Images)
