It may be true that many consider Atari’s “Pong” the first legit video game, but nothing really tops the countless hours spent playing “Super Mario Bros.,” or even “Duck Hunt” for that matter. The game was released in 1985, and in 1992, the game morphed into a campy, cheesy but expected film. Starring the adorable Bob Hoskins and a young John Leguizamo as Mario and Luigi and a devilish Dennis Hooper as King Koopa, “Mario” lovers got a backstory they never anticipated. Who knew that the superheroes from the game were really plumbers?
