With a successful run on Broadway (earning the 1982 Tony Award for best musical) followed by a less-than-impressive run at the box office, “Nine” was still a great interpretation of this musical, highlighting all the sexiness of the Broadway production. Who wouldn’t want to see Fergie’s “Be Italian” or Kate Hudson’s “Cinema Italiano” (even though it’s not in the original stage version’s score) reimagined for the Oscars? Plus, Rob Marshall directed this one after adapting “Chicago” for the screen.
