Why J.J. Abrams Is The Perfect Director for 'Star Wars'

3. “Super 8”

Written and directed by Abrams, this movie focused on a group of kids in 1979 that witnessed a disastrous train accident and tried to keep up with the weird events that happened subsequently. The film, which is dripping in sci-fi, tells of Abrams fascination for dealing with mysterious, possibly alien, forces. Although “Super 8” was dully compared to the likes of Spielberg’s “E.T.,” similarities within the new “Star Wars” film would probably be welcomed.
