With 100 episodes and five seasons, “Fringe” seems to be Abrams specialty, as he did create and produce the show. The premise: An FBI agent is forced to work an institutionalized scientist in order to find answers to the weird phenomena taking place, which led to episodes dissecting teleportation and parallel universes. The show won the 2011 People’s Choice award for favorite sci-fi/horror show and was twice nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. The show was regarded as an innovative approach to sci-fi, and when cancelled, DC Comics started a “Fringe: Beyond the Fringe” digital comic book.
